#46664 – Mandela Day NYC

My friend Mikkel (founder of the Life Straw and Permanet) was gracious enough to invite me to the Mandela Day celebrations in NYC to celebrate Mandela’s life, work and his 91st Birthday. Both the Mandela Foundation as well as his wife’s (Graca Machal’s) organization (the FDC), help fund much of the work we’re doing in Mozambique, so it was nice to celebrate with others who feel as if this great leader has touched their lives in different ways.

Mandela’s prison number was “46664″ which is how the event got it’s name.

I shot this video highlighting some of the musical highlights. It’s long but the sound quality is pretty good – and it features everyone from Aretha Franklin to Will.i.am to Carla Bruni. Enjoy!
