Climate Change Competition leading up to Copenhagen

Carbon 14

Prize Amount: $50,000

Description: The competition is open to anyone, and Carbon 14 will grant $50,000 each year to a person who exemplifies “ordinary people doing extraordinary things” for the environment.

Judging Panel: Summer Rayne Oakes (model-activist and host on Discovery Network’s Planet Green), Shepard Fairey (controversial artist), Peter Hoffman (owner of  Savoy restaurants), Greg K (from the MisShapes) and more.

The first group of nominees will be announced at this launch event (October 5^th) at the Cabanas at the Maritime Hotel.

If you are interested in participating or you would like to nominate someone else, please send the following to thec14s@gmail.com:

-A 30-second video “demonstrating” the project (be as creative as you like!)
-A brief essay describing the contestant(s) and the project
-A photograph of the contestant(s)

After October 5^th, people can go directly to the Carbon14 site (www.c14time.com) to upload their submissions.
