Source4Style wins the 2011 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards in Deauville, France

For all the women out there thinking of starting a business – or have recently launched a business – you will have already discovered that there are very few “Women in Business” Awards out there – particularly for those that are focused on the development of a social enterprise. That’s why Benita and I were so excited to discover the Cartier Awards about two years ago.

We recently gave The Last Magazine a special look into my first collection of suns and specs with MODO. The eco by Summer Rayne Oakes collection reinterprets the entire product lifecycle of eyewear to give back along the entire supply chain. Prepping for the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards

Taking stock of current inventory on Source4Style Beta

This week Benita and I leave for Paris and Deauville to speak at the Women’s Forum and compete in the final round of the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards for Source4Style. It’s been over a two month journey in midst of bringing on new suppliers, forging some incredible partnerships, and building a brand new Source4Style 2.0 site (but shhhh, we’re not ready to reveal it yet).

You can head over to the newly-minted Source4Style Tumblr site in the interim if you want to share in our experiences. Not much up yet but if we’re not too French-lagged, we’ll update fairly regularly from Sunday onwards. And will continue to post absolute randomness en route to London where we’ll drop in on the Source Expo to give a couple panel talks and show our London brethren a sneak peak of our fancy new site-that-is-not-launching-yet-but-will-soon-if-we-all-keep-our-fingers-crossed. (We’ll save the explanation behind that many hyphened verbosity for a future book or memoir of sorts)…
