How fast does a Tesla go?

Well 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds flat according to my speedometer on the Queensland Raceway yesterday. 

I had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Tesla Roadster, the first high-performance electric vehicle in Oz. Despite not having driven in five years (total fish without gills) – I VERY much enjoyed myself. I kept on thinking of some good headlines that would hit the morning papers if I actually flipped, smashed or crashed the vehicle…like “Who Killed the Electric Car” and such. Tried not to joke about it too much though since Eric – the gentleman in charge of the vehicle, was a nervous wreck over the whole thing. But overall – Totally smooth, silent ride, INCREDIBLE pick up, and the ABS system = stellar. Also a bonus: Great leg room for those daddy long legs of mine.
