05 Sept 08. I have to head off to the office and my agency to have a meeting with a client who is hiring me as a spokesperson and strategist for their sustainable fashion programs. The contract isn’t signed yet, but you’ll find out in a couple weeks who it is! It’s nice to have some low-key meetings; yesterday I spent the entire day driving around JFK. Allan’s products (adschwarz.com) arrived from Mozambique and clearing Customs is an all-day extravaganza.

What a life! Live it up while you can!
If you maybe spent half of the time filming yourself focusing on your initiatives, you might actually be a bit more credible. For green folks, we don’t care to watch three minutes of you in your lingerie in the morning. It reeks of narcissism. Come on. Focus on the cause, and forget about yourself. You’re only discrediting yourself. By doing all of this self-promotion video junk, it’s just obnoxious. Definitely tell us when you do something cool, but all of the “look at me-isms” on your website… it’s just off-putting.
Onlooker, though I can see where you are coming from the vids may not be targeted to you. I am an aspiring model from TX, 20 years old, and find them to be interesting and liberating. From a “getting ready for a casting” perspective and as a person who didn’t really have a concept of what “green” or “eco-modeling” is or was – it’s effective. I often tune into the videos on models.com, but they don’t have that kind of information.
