Seeking Freelance Graphic Designers for Upcoming Projects

Friday, December 18th, 2009

We’re seeking out an awesome graphic designer to contribute to visual language of two new sites. One site is focused on sustainable textiles. The other is focused on reforestation/sustainable development.

Specifically, we’re looking for a designer to design some unique iconography for both sites that helps tell the stories behind the materials and the supply chain.

We are looking to develop about 13 icons for one site that are unique to the company; that brand our web experience; and effectively communicate the sustainable attributes behind the materials and the process. The second site is seeking out approximately 5 icons. These two projects are separate.

Our budget for the first project (of 13 icons) is anywhere between $500 and $1,000 commensurate with experience and portfolio.

Please email cover letter and representative work samples to julia (dot) gabella (at) groupsjr (dot) com by Wednesday, January 6.

in nature we never see anything isolated

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

This upcoming week I’ll be shooting the new zoe&zac campaign for Payless with Todd Norwood, whom is most known for his campaigns with Michael Kors, Nina Shoes, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, and Bergdorf Goodman. His collection of personal work, however, is most captivating. His straightforward shots of commonplace, everyday objects in cold urban environments leave viewers with an unsettling feeling of isolation and abandonment. Perhaps to Norwood this is what it looks like when we have reached the end of our useful lives. All photos: Todd Norwood.

We allow our ignorance to prevail upon us and make us think we can survive alone, alone in patches, alone in groups, alone in races, even alone in genders. – Maya Angelou (African American poet, writer and performer)

In nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else which is before it, beside it, under it and over it. – Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749-1832, German Poet, Dramatist, Novelist)

artistic advertising: Loomstate for Target

Saturday, April 25th, 2009
I caught up with Steve who was painting the wall on the corner of Bedford/Grand Streets in Williamsburg. He was working on it for days and it looks great! If you recall, Scott and Rogan brought a Rogan collaboration to Target last year – and now this year, Loomstate is giving Target a helping hand. Well done boys. I have an enlightening interview with Scott in my book, Style, Naturally.
