Lisa’s thousand watt smile. She works with artisans around the world to create beautifully sophisticated jewelry.

The campaign for Linhardt Design. Rinze is so talented, isn’t he?
I joined Lisa Linhardt to celebrate her 1 year anniversary of her design studio, a beautiful accessories boutique celebrating the best in modern artisanal jewelry. In addition to Lisa’s signature pieces we launched Allan’s line, a.d. schwarz, and the presentation was just exquisite! She should have an e-commerce site up soon and if you want to view the full campaign we shot of her collection, check it out here.
Mark your calendars! Come join me on June 25, 2009 to celebrate the one year anniversary of the opening of Lisa’s store and the launch of a.d. schwarz - exclusively at Linhardt Design.
We’ve launched the first season’s line of zoe&zac and next week I’ll be back in the design room working on upcoming season’s lines. If you have gotten a chance to head over to a Payless store and check them out like I did the other day, then check out the website here and let us know what you think (web shots below). It’s definitely a work-in-progress…and we got a lot more to tackle. Some of the boys out there were wondering whether they’ll get some kicks - and the short answer is “Yes.” This will eventually be a family brand - but we’re still developing styles and materials, so the men’s versions will launch a few seasons down the road. Stay tuned. Check out the video below for a bit more behind-the-scenes + tips from the last shoot/work session.
I shot these dark, cinematic images with photographer Rinze van Brug and stylist Anett Gabriel of Dutch House Photography for the Linhardt Design Collection. Rinze’s photography has a precious, antique quality. The softened tones coupled with the voyeuristic set-ups can instill feelings as wide-ranging as peacefulness to trepidation. We started shooting at dusk and shot through the evening to capture the aura of New York City’s Lower East Side at night…
I’ve known Lisa, the designer for awhile. We were first introduced through Ron from RecycleBank. At the time she was taking jewelry design courses at F.I.T. and now she has opened up an amazing boutique in the Lower East Side showcasing some of the best in sustainable jewelry design. She sources and designs with a number of cooperatives around the world. Later this Spring, we’ll be releasing the a.d. schwarz line there, so please stay tuned.
Julia and I headed to the nearest Payless store to check out the zoe&zac displays. I bought a pair of the brown organic cotton wedges, which I wore all day yesterday. Charlotte called on Friday to inform me that all the girl’s shoes (three different styles) sold out - and those brown wedges I bought are the best-selling ones. Not only that, but our “Plant A Billion” bags - those recycled $1.99 ones in which $1.00 is given to plan 1 tree in the Atlantic Forest of the Amazon, are all sold out too! Thanks everyone for your support. Check out zoe&zac at a local Payless (we launched this April 13, 2009 in 1,000 locations) and on Payless.com.
