Internship! Apply within.

That’s right. It’s about time I get some help up in here. I’ve just got way too much $hit going on and I’d love to continue to do all of it, but there is only so much time in the day. Show me what you got; your moves; your ideas; your motivation. I’m thinking a start time some time in December or January. More info below + contact Julia HERE.

More Info!

Company: SRO, llc + SJR

Job Position: Intern
Location: New York, New York
Compensation: Yes (Bi-weekly)

I love energetic, creative and committed people with an interest in sustainability, popular movements, and culture/politics. Intern will work collaboratively with me and my core team, but will at times need to work without direction while I am traveling. I’m all about someone bringing something extra cool and different to the table—some sort of special je ne sais quoi. If you got it-flaunt it!

This is an “independent contractor” intern position, preferably someone in college or recently out of college or someone in transition. Yes it is paid. If partnership works well, an extension and possible hire within the company is feasible.

Approximate hours/week: Approximately 15-20

Qualifications:
Required skills
- An interest or passion for sustainability
- Great writing competency and communication skills
- Great research skills (i.e. library, trade reports, science journals; access to college resources is highly preferred)

Preferential skills
- Web + Design knowledge/skills
- Basic video editing skills

Examples of Responsibilities:
This should be a pretty cool job because you’ll be working on various projects that I use to do myself, but no longer have sufficient time for. Some of it will be tedious, but hey, that’s how it is sometimes.

Some of the work will range from task-oriented (i.e. inputting information in spreadsheets, running a few errands, follow-up with clients over the phone, blogging) to creative (i.e. assisting in design of newsletters, product sheets, graphics, etc.) to research-oriented (i.e. conducting interviews, scanning and obtaining latest information from science journals, etc.). Work usually is incredibly diverse, which is always why it’s great to have someone who has a diverse skill set.

Topics and projects will vary and you will get a pretty good cross-section of experience—from marketing/PR to brand development of community sustainable development projects and research into sustainable design topics.
