Good Eggs
Build community engagement to grow and sustain local food systems.
I love big, bold ideas—particularly ones that are truly out to disrupt antiquated systems. When I spoke with Rob Spiro, the co-founder of Good Eggs—a farmer's market meets online grocer—I knew he was on to something special. He and his top-notch team were on a mission to create a company that could provide an easier way for people to access high-quality, locally-made food from farmers and foodmakers who care about stewarding the land. In September 2013, I began working closely with Good Eggs NY to assist in their event launch and continue to help build deeper community engagement across New York.
Good Eggs has food hubs across the bay area, los angeles, new york and new orleans. in new york, we feature close to 200 local farmers and foodmakers to give customers a full-grocery basket experience.
Good Eggs is like a grocery store but with better food, less hassle, and more heart. They deliver fresh produce and groceries directly to customers in New York City. Every week they deliver more than 2,400 eggs. We followed one egg from a chicken coop at Ralston Farm in New Jersey to a breakfast plate in Park Slope, Brooklyn. the good eggs launch party drew close to 700 people and countless press mentions. the goal was to create a vibrant but wholesome atmosphere to help connect brooklyn-based residents to their local farmers and foodmakers. the event featured over a dozen local producers and featured caramel apple making, fresh pasta, and oyster shucking.
